And then there is this one. I’ve had this and its longer counter part (sold over the weekend) for quite some time now but it’s only now that I decided to showcase it. I don’t know why but maybe because I just love seeing it around at Studio Siriusdan Halcon. I actually displayed it at one point at cafesiriusdan but decided against it at the last minute. I think this should be in a home. Enjoyed by a selective few.
When I first acquired this I immediately fell in love with its frame! So robust and elegant at the same time! The woodwork is the always dependable narra.
The hand painted details are a combination of different motifs. It’s giving garden, crusades, and art deco at the same time. I don’t know. Quite frankly sometimes I would just grab “random” shapes from our patterns and fill out the canvas/surface I’m working with. I love that. It eliminates the thinking in the creating process and highlight the feeling of things instead. Makes it more organic.
